Tiny Bubbles Laundry Detergent

So you know I use cloth diapers. I was thrown into the world of cloth when I found out #3 was on the way. I was tired of throwing away diapers from my older 2. I was becoming environmentally friendly at the time, just started recycling. Using microfiber cloths instead of paper towel, natural cleaners... You get the drift. We also were at a point where the money is tight what a better way to save then to use cloth. I didn't know where to start I was (still am actually) new to the land of cloth so I asked a dear friend what I should do as she was the only person I knew that used cloth. She instantly brought me over some of her OLD stash (We really need new diapers Little Man deserves some new diapers). I went and researched cloth diaper washing directions as she didn't tell me much but to use a "free" detergent. I bought All free and Clear. Now I am not going to talk bad about it, but I do not believe it was the wisest choice for cloth, but it was cheap. I washed my new found diapers and used them on my daughter who was still in diapers at the time. (She still is but we are PTing :)) I figured I could get my feet wet with her and see what it was like what is needed. I fell in love with the whole concept and ease of cloth. DH was hesitant and frustrated by the leaks. He was confused by stuffing and covers and all that good stuff. (He is a AIO man).... SO I tried to figure out the leaks I figured we had a learning curve this is new we need to figure out if we are not stuffing enough or stuffing with the wrong thing?? Then I found a wonderful thing called STRIPPING your diapers. Well this was worth a try. I had talked to a few folks about my leaks and the agreed upon problem was, "Its your detergent" SO I still have this bottle of ALL and I use it and I strip like every other wash. You would about die if you saw how much soap is left in my diapers. I need something better I NEED something made for CLOTH DIAPERS.
There are so many choices. Where to start??? I still have no clue. This is probably why I haven't bought any of the soaps that diaper sites sell online.
I have recently been introduced to Tiny Bubbles Laundry Detergent. It is a new detergent made by the Natural Baby Comp. It sounds great to me. Its made for sensitive skin!! We have some major eczema around here so I would hope this would keep any irritation away. It is also Phosphate-Free AND its made for use in HE washers. Look it only has 5 yes FIVE ingredients!!! Ingredients
Sodium carbonate, Sodium sulfate, Sodium percarbonate, Sodium alkyl aryl sulfonate, Linear alcohol ethoxylate.
Its $12.95 for 60 loads in my front loader so it is reasonably priced. I have no idea about shipping but I really think I will buy some of this detergent. I really just need to take the plunge and buy some already. Anyone need half a bottle of ALL???

I have never given the children the pleasure of making there own bear. I myself have only been in Build A Bear and walked around looked and watched small children delight in choosing there very own friend. Then the walk proudly over to the stuffing machine to give there new found friend life. After they have started the stuffing process the child is asked to pick a small heart and to hold it and I believe make a wish?? The heart is then placed inside the bear and the back is sewn shut. You move about the store where you clean your new friend and decide if it needs an outfit and accessories. You even get to choose a name and make a certificate.
I swore I would take my child when they were old enough to enjoy it. BAD MOM ALERT. I have yet to do it :(
Right now Shop Annies is having a giveaway for a $25 gift card. I REALLY want this I can finally take them with this as money is too tight to just go without the help from this GC. FEED YOUR STASH Friday

Now I really like Bumkins but the thing is the ones I have, they are the OLD version so I would really LOVE to try the NEW version. Plus it has bamboo diaps in this giveaway. (giggles in delight) We all know that I love bamboo!!!
Ok the truth behind my love...... It involves the hubby... When I received my used stash of diapers I was quite scared of the Bumkins. They were big and bulky. The velcro tabs were huge and the AIO theroy was there, I guess, to say the least. I put them in the bottom drawer with the other creepy incase of emergency only use diapers. Then I left DH alone with no instructions. It was nap time he had a fresh diaper on no problems right??? HA HA! Well the pretty HH that I had on him and thought I would love leaked with his first pee (SUPER SOAKER). Hubster then was confused by what gets stuffed, what needs a cover, hang on..what is a cover (scratch head)..... For the record: Everything was stuffed and covers were with the soakers so I THOUGHT I left it fool proof. HAHA!! I came home to the dreaded no-no diaper proudly being displayed on his little hiney. My first question was what happened? I got the he was soaked!! Blanket, shirt, bedding everything. Okay thats fine this is our first experience with cloth we will learn but why didn't you use one of the ones in the top drawer? That is when I got the whole stuffed, cover line. I said well they are all ready to go and together. He then said plus these are easy no "buttons" no stuffing its really just like a regular diaper. Now granted all diapers are like regular diapers but these he really seems to fancy, and I get the hey you need to wash the diapers we're out of my diapers line quite frequently. This is great I was worried about him and the willingness to participate in my adventure. So as long as he has a Bumkins in the pile hes okay with cloth.

Happy Heinys Giveaway

Now I was given a very OLD HH from my friend to try out when I said I wanted to try cloth. The first thing I noticed was how large the opening is for stuffing with an insert. Can we say HUGE?? I am still on the fence about that. Part of me loves it, it makes stuffing sooo easy and the other part hates it. I think my biggest dislike is I feel like the plastic layer touches skin and can cause sticky back. Like when you were a kid and you drove in your parents car that had vinyl seats and your shorts covered legs stuck to the vinyl. My other issue with the diaper is when I wash it the laundry tabs give out. BUT like I said this diaper is OLD. I REALLY want to try a new one to see if I get better results. Now if you own a HH and want to add you opinion please do. If you owned an old one and now a new one please let me know if they have changed.

AppleCheeks are everywhere!!!!

Two Of A Kind Working On a Full House....... Has jumped on the AppleCheeks bandwagon. She is also having a giveaway for a diaper system!!! Apple Cheeks has a really nifty pocket system. The pocket is about 1/3 of the way down the back and stuffing seems just as easy as a back opening pocket. But wait!! If your not a fan of pockets, or your in a hurry and can't stuff you can lay your liner on top and use this diaper as a cover!!! How cool is that. So if DH or grandma doesn't have a clue, they really can't screw up with this diaper. This is a snap diaper it has two rows of snaps. Top row is for the waist and bottom row is for the legs. It comes in 2 sizes. Both sizes cover a pretty good threshold. Size 1 diapers fit from 7-20 pounds and size 2 fits from 18-40 pounds.

Fuzzi Bunz Giveaway

Two of a kind, working on a full house is giving away THREE yes I said THREE Fuzzi Bunz one size pocket diapers!!!!!! Now I have never tried Fuzzi Bunz but boy do I want to!! The biggest thing that catches my eye is they have leg adjustments where you can adjust the leg gathers to fit your baby just right for no leaks from the legs, how great is that?? I know I am worried about breast fed poo possibly leaking and this may keep the "mustard" in. They are a snap diaper and as of right now I really can say I do not know what one I like better snaps or Aplix. Aplix seems to be easier for DH, snaps seem to get a better fit. I really like one size diapers as I do not have to worry about having a bunch of different sizes, I can just snap adjust and keep going. I am still torn between pockets and AIO's. Now this looks like an interesting little diaper. I would really like to try it. The pocket opening is not in the back like most diapers its about a third from the top of the back. Interesting as I wonder how that feels to a little bottom. But you do not have to use this diaper as a pocket you can also use it as a cover and lay your inserts on top of the diaper. Really interesting. They also have bamboo and hemp inserts and boosters. Along with wipes and a large wet bag. Almost a all inclusive diaper system :) Also they have some really pretty BOLD colors. I Love bold.

I know I'm not the only mom out there who cloth diapers their baby but can't seem to find a decent nighttime diaper that you don't have to change through the night. I was resigned to the fact that I would never find something suitable for my heavy wetter but I did! Mommies, let me introduce you to LooRoos!

For review, we tried the AIO and a pocket diaper. I've never been able to cloth diaper Aidan at nighttime because to me it wasn't worth him needing to be changed multiple times during the night just to avoid using disposables. Mama needs her sleep too! I was hesitant about trying a cloth diaper at night because I figured I'd be changing him after 3 hours and to me it wasn't worth him waking up from needing to be changed just to avoid using disposable. But surprise surprise the AIO worked! The diaper isn't even bulky! I couldn't believe it!

The pocket diapers are easy to use {the pocket is wide enough for hubby's hands so no excuses to not help stuff anymore!} and wash and dry easily. For being as absorbant as the AIO was, I didn't find it took any longer to dry than my other hemp diapers. The Velcro fasteners make these diapers a cinch to change on wiggly toddlers. However, if you prefer a snap closure you have the choice between snap or velcro.

Razors

No its not a diaper. But as I am trying to review things I opened up a new one last night and thought hmmm. BLOG post LOL.
Schick Quattro will be todays discussion
Yesterday I shaved and my blade was well dead. So after I got out of the shower I realized I was out of refill blades for my Venus. I grabbed the Quattro out of the drawer and ripped the packaging open so I can toss it on the shower rack for today's shower. First thing I noticed was a HUGE design flaw. Apparently Schick is in the male market and never really thought before they ventured into the world of woman for this razor. It is metal!!! Metal for a razor that will mostly spend its life in a shower??? Metal and showers do not mix. Now I could be wrong in thinking that this will rust, lets hope so!!! It is 4 blades wrapped in wire. I never get the wire idea. I mean suppose to help me keep from cutting myself? Then how is the blade getting close enough to even shave me smooth? BTW it did not shave silky smooth I have stubble :o( Its a heavy razor, but that is ok, I don't mind the weight. Now the blade ya know the part that you throw away and replace...... Who designed that??? It had to be a computer because I dont see a man or woman being that dumb. It has more openings and nooks that store hair and you can not get them out!! There are openings above the blades at the top that you cant get clean the opposite side of the blades that attaches to the handle thats a nook filled mess. Under the bottom blade is a ridge that holds all the tiny hairs. I tried everything to get the hair out. Its a brand new blade, it has life left in it. But to no avail I could not get it out. It really creeps me out all that old hair in it that I just want to toss the blade, but doesnt that defeat the purpose of not being disposable? I might as well buy a package of disposables they are CHEAPER but worse on the environment. This razor gets 1 star.
If you have advice on cleaning that blade let me know. If you LOVE this razor let me know. If you know of a more earth friendly way to shave than having to toss blades PLEASE let me know.

Bamboo

I would like to start this by saying everything I have is used. I have nothing new, it was all given to me when we found out #3 was on the way and I said this is it. We have started recycling and going green around the house and I hate hate hate how many diapers I was just throwing away I was not going to do it anymore I was done. The trash amount has decreased so much with the recycling, if it was not for the disposables I could just take 1 bag out once a week but with the spoies I was tossing a bag out every night. My reusable grocery store bags I couldnt use them every time I went to the store I had to get some plastic bags for the daily diaper tossing. I could no longer do it. Such a waste, such a shame to the environment such a counteractive thing to be doing for everything I was now doing right.
I will say I love my bamboo fitteds. I have Bambineo. Aplix closure and an additional soaker pad on this diaper. I know they have pretty iffy reviews... BUT They hold tons of pee! With a super soaker that's a huge plus. Bamboo is soooo soft they really need to make all clothes out of this material. I really think nudist colonies would go bankrupt if everything was made from bamboo. I <3 bamboo (does it show). I have swaddlebees covers for them and well they leak at the leg bands over night :( I do not know if all covers do this or maybe the larges are just too big? Or the river of pee that flows from little miss Marie. I also have a wool cover (no clue what brand it is) but it must need something because I swear it was just a rag. Can we say big messy puddle of wet??? If this bamboo diaper gets such poor reviews I could only Imagine the types of back flips I would do if I had a bamboo diaper that was better than this.

Diaper Reviews

I think I am going to start talking to myself ;) about diapers and benefits and negatives of them. Kind of my own personal reviews, to decide what I want to use for the new little nut. Try to jog my memory of what I liked and what I did not. If you want me to review or mention your products shoot me an email. I don't have many to talk about a have very little in my stash because I started so late but I do have a few, with very strong opinions on them. I know diapering a girl to a boy will be a big difference but I still need to remember why I stopped using some and keep using the ones I am.

Well my world is interesting, my life is strange... But who's is not? I need to get use to this as this is my first blog ever. I guess I should look around and see whats up before typing anymore.
I figured out how to change the colors. EXCITING. I wonder how to put pics up?
Anyway about me. I am a mom to two girls.. Lynn and Marie with a miracle boy on his way. We are planning a nice quite natural home birth and I want to do everything natural. The only thing I am not planning is co-sleeping. But will sling, breastfeed, cloth diaper.
